Thank you for your anniversary wishes! S and I had a wonderful time yesterday, very relaxed. We drove 50 miles out to Winslow to have lunch at La Posada. It's a lovely old hotel designed by Mary Colter, and it has a very nice restaurant too. We had planned to take Max with us, the hotel is right next to the train tracks so we figured he'd have a good time watching the trains, but we got a last-minute playdate offer. Earlier in the day, Max was having trouble getting his mind around "anniversary", but he certainly knew what a playdate was so in his mind it was no longer an option for him to come with us.
As usually happens when S and I find ourselves alone together, we have no idea what to do with ourselves. We get so into the routine of answering questions, getting food, gently turning down requests for yet another movie, etc. When that all goes away, what are we supposed to do? Well, it tooks us most of the day, but we finally managed to relax and just enjoy being with each other. We ended the night on the couch, watching Star Trek (original) and Stargate, and giggling about I-don't-know-what. It was a very nice day and night.
Here's what I'm working on now. Some pretty easy knitting, just following the pattern. I really like venturing out and designing my own stuff, but sometimes following someone else's pattern is just what I need. These pieces are going to be a birdie pajama bag from Lucinda Guy's And So To Bed. It's very cute, and so far only 4 days in the making, but I'm beginning to question whether anyone really needs a pajama bag. For us, slipping pjs under the pillow seems to work pretty well. Maybe I'll convert it into a kid's shoulder bag, we'll see.
I'm also working on some ideas for other Moleskine accessories, so if you're interested, stay tuned! I still have a few single pen holders in the shop, and will do custom orders if there's something you want that's not there right now. Oh! I saw these today, Amy (of the wonderful CreativeMomPodcast) has lovely pen pouches, if you'd rather carry your whole pen set with you rather than the one or two mine have slots for.
Happy belated anniversary. Sounds like it was a perfect day!
What exactly is a pajama bag? I remember hearing about it as a child but having no idea what it was.
Is it where you keep your pjs so you can wear them several times in a row?
We keep Buddy's pjs in a pj drawer in the dresser. It's so hot here that Buddy usually needs a fresh pair every night.

I remember pajama bags! Haven't thought of those in years! We had a black and white kitty sitting on a pink pillow. The pillow had a zipper for storing the jammies! Wish I still had that!
